Mexico Dear brother: Yesterday I received your letter dated the 5th of this month to which I have the pleasure of referring. Before going on, I should tell you that I also received one of yours dated the 19th of March and which I intend to answer separately. You tell me that all of you came down with an illness that is spreading everywhere, well it also visited us here as I mentioned in the letter that I wrote to my dad two or three days ago. I am still coughing a lot and Guillo, according to the doctor, is on the verge of coming down with tuberculosis. God grant that my mom live long enough for me to see her once again, when we can all live there peacefully. We hope it will happen this way. Juanito is almost completely well and Guillo like I tell you has come up with this illness. Lola is grateful that all of you remember her in spite of having so much to do, for here we do not pay attention to our feast days and if we know that we have a head it is because we touch it. You announce that perhaps very soon you will establish your own business for which I congratulate you and I wish you success. I have always been on the side of one's own initiative, so tell me: what kind of merchandise do you plan to manage and what part of the city do you like best? Will you also sell wholesale or what category will you decide on for your \"Changarro\" [small shop]. I'm sure that later you will give me all the details. I end the present one wishing you good aim and may God help you in your new enterprise. May you all be in good health and with our most affectionate regards your brother who loves you says good-bye. M. Venegas P.S. Soledad wrote to me, I received her letter yesterday and she tells me that she hasn't received any news from all of you. She is well; they also got the flu, so she says. She tells me in her letter that they are very comfortable and they have no intentions of returning to Mexico, because here there are no obstacles in dedicating themselves to their duties so she says. After all that has happened it is sad to have to express oneself in this manner. I beg you to get information about the houses with the Martinez gentlemen because I would like to know if they are in possession of all of that and for me to see if I can do something from here"},{"label":"Is Part Of","value":"Venegas Family Papers, Collection Number 99, Series 1.
