August 13, 1929 Mr. Francisco Venegas Guadalajara, Jal. Mexico Very esteemed brother: Your letter dated the 30th of July was received to which I have the pleasure of answering. I acknowledge what you tell me regarding the money in question. You also give me information about your present employment; I think that, given the current circumstances, what you now earn is not so bad, although I hope there will be better times ahead when one can do more on his own. I appreciate the news about the houses in Zapotlanejo. And about the lands, what do you know? Who has taken possession of them and how is \"business\" in general? Is the situation any better? I am aware of what you tell me regarding the parish priest and I will do what you tell me. I don't know what I am going to do with all of my creditors because as of now I will not be able to pay all that I owe and this is my main concern when I think of returning to that country. Who knows, if I were not always thinking of returning, I could have ventured into something else that would bring in greater profits with which to confront my obligations, but then, upon entering into more businesses I would run a higher risk of failing and that would be even worse given my circumstances. Neither can I risk the few dollars that I have invested in my little business since it is the very source of my support. Then again, my creditors are justified in claiming what is theirs, and it is not their fault that I cannot now pay them, nevertheless I still have hope of settling all of my debts. Tell me if you have seen don Ignacio Castellanos and where he is now. And don Gabriel Padilla, what does he have to say? Have you seen him? Ending this one I tell you that I received your letter dated the 12th that included a letter from my dad which gave me much joy to see it in his own writing and left us very content. Receive many hugs from your nephews who always remember all of you well. We would appreciate it if you send us your photo, for Agustin already sent us his. Many regards from Lola and a hug from your brother who loves you. Miguel P.S: We were thinking that if it were possible for my father to come visit, we would be very happy. And then maybe he could even go with us to see Chole. Can this happen? What would he say?"},{"label":"Is Part Of","value":"Venegas Family Papers, Collection Number 99, Series 1. Subseries A.
