There are five holes around the edge of the mask. These are used to thread a length of fabric, rope, or leather through to secure the mask to the dancer's head and two crescent-shaped holes above the mask's glass eyes through which the dancer could look out. There is a wire across the back from which the mask was hung when in possession of the collector.
