I do not remember the exact  price of the machines that you refer to, they more or less cost about $30 pesos but it would be  better to inquire what the current price might be.  I believe it would be good to offer the typewriter to a business house where I owe something,  and thus get more for it as long as they are agreeable. I will try to think of someone.  As for the things you mention, I don’t think they are worth the time and effort so just leave them  under general items.  Certainly as you say, the carpet can be proposed to B. Hernández but not until the rest of the  clothes are ready.  I owe $85.19 pesos to Paulsen & Co., and if you could gather all the hardware items in a box  which could be sold to equal that amount, then it would be an easy way to settle this debt and  may also be [more] acceptable by them. And so tell me when they [hardware items in a box] are  ready so I can notify them.  Whenever you can figure out the total value of the clothes, I will decide to whom it should be  offered according to what is owed so they will not take an unfair advantage.  I realize I am giving instructions as if you were my employee but I repeat once more that there is  no one else who can do this for me. Nevertheless I tell you plainly it would please me for you to  take a just remuneration which is owed you for all the time taken from your leisure time; even  more so if you are no longer working. I assume this because you mention coming to L.A.; and if  both of you are working and there are no problems in remaining over there, then I don't see the  reason for your trip unless it is with the intention of establishing a business here; and upon  saying this don’t think that I would opt out and not help you in everything I could, as is my  responsibility towards you. But I repeat that if you would like my advice as someone who has  experience in this matter, and if you find it convenient, then tell me outright what you are  thinking; and whether you plan to come alone, or with the rest of the family. I don’t advise my  father to come until both of you are settled here.  I would not like this to be misinterpreted, and so I ask that you clearly explain your plans and tell  me directly: this is our situation, this way God may enlighten me to perhaps advise you in such a  way as to avoid many tribulations later on.
