Time has gone by without having those causes, for which we many Mexicans abandoned our  respective towns, have disappeared. But time doesn't stand still, and as you say, one has to look  ahead so as not to be left behind. And thus one has to navigate from wherever one finds himself  after the storm; one must venture out to reach the shores.  After so long a time I just now saw you when I received your photo, we are all grateful and have  received it with great joy; may God allow us to at least go see you before we die, and if not, then  we pray to God that we can all be reunited in heaven at least in some small hidden corner, which  is what I wish for everyone.  As for Soledad I have not received any news even though I wrote to her a long time ago.  Lola is now in good health, as well as all the children, and they are very happy to see your  picture, and right away they remember when they were over there with you and they want to  return. One day I told Guillermo [then six years old] that I was going to send him to you with  Doña María and before we knew it he had changed his clothes and was looking for the rest of his  things, by then we had already forgotten and we asked him what he was doing, where was he  going, and he answered: ... “well to Guadalajara with the boys, to see”... and he mentioned all of  you.  With regards to my mother, Chayo, Lupita, and Lucita, and a hug for Pancho, Agustin, and  Nacho, your son who says goodbye and wishes you a very happy new year.
