However, Swanson felt that the original 1987 serigraph lacked the details needed for an artwork more than seven times the size of the original piece. This colored pencil drawing on vellum was scanned, digitally resized, color matched, and added to the eighteen foot tall artwork file by the John August Swanson Studio. While creating the digital file, Swanson decided to release a giclee edition of the artwork with the additional drawings and details. The River giclee file was completed on November 28, 2018.
