You tell me you saw Mr. Padilla who informed you about the merchandise that was with don  Nacho.  I commend your idea of studying English, and with respect to what you tell me, I have seen  books only in English and there is only one in existence titled: English without a Teacher that  has the pronunciation spelled out, it costs $1.00 dollar, but I don't believe it to be very practical.  It would be better for your teacher to indicate which book you should buy, anyway I am at your  service to order whatever you like. I am going to send you the book you requested anyway and  any other book you want.  I have received a letter from B. Hernández and Co; he is about to receive some merchandise in  payment of what I owe him, and since I know we had some organdy [a fine transparent muslin  fabric] and other fabrics, I beg you to tell me if they still exist, and through whom this should be  done.  You do not mention my last letter which I assume you have not yet received.  Our greetings to all the family hoping they are in good health. At the present we are all well,  thanks be to God.  With nothing more to say and in expectation of news from you  I remain your brother who loves you all.  Miguel  P.S.
