Dear brother:  I have the pleasure of answering your letter written on the 15th of the month, in which you tell  me you will all move to Jalisco 410.  I am glad that both you and Agustin are happy in your work.  I understand you plan to sell the animals [cows] if you cannot find a place to keep them.  Please tell the Álvarez boys that I will send them book they have requested. Also ask if they have  in their possession some goods that I loaned to Luis, and if so to please hand them over so they  can be sold for whatever they can bring, and the same thing with that of Jesús’. If there is  someone who may want to buy the Singer sewing machine it could be sold for up to 100 pesos;  otherwise, when possible, try and find out how much it cost to ship it to L.A. because we are in  great need of one and a used machine costs $50 dollar here.  The letter you sent to the previous address was received.  Miguelito is well and it appears he will not have any serious consequences.  Tell me, how are you doing with the mesón [overnight inn for travelers and mule trains], I knew  there would be many unknown expenses connected to it. And don Pedrito, has his business been  good?
