The university first opened as a College of Liberal Arts in 1880, with 10 teachers and 53 students. It has since expanded to over 33,000 students and 32,000 faculty, and in addition to its College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, it now includes a graduate school and 17 professional schools. Famous graduates include Neil Armstrong, George Lucas, and John Wayne. Some of its most highly ranked programs are in cinematic arts, engineering, policy, planning and development, pharmacy, business, and law. The original College of Liberal Arts Building, often simply called "Old College," was built in 1884, and could accomodate the entire student body (55 students at that time), as well as the library. Two additional wings were added to the building in 1905, but it was demolished in 1949 because it was considered unsafe in the event of an earthquake."},{"label":"Language","value":"eng"},{"label":"Publisher","value":"Los Angeles, Cal.: Western Publishing & Novelty Co.; Theo.
