Among them, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion was the first and largest theater of the Music Center. It was built in 1964 and designed by Welton Becket under a total design policy: the firm designed everything from the structure to its interior design including lighting fixtures, carpeting, typography, restaurant china and flatware to create a unified look. The interior is famous for the 78 crystal light fixtures as well as three chandeliers made with 24,000 pieces of hand-polished crystals imported from Germany. The Pavilion was named after Dorothy Buffum Chandler, wife of the Los Angeles Times' publisher, who led a planning committee for the Music Center and successfully raised private donations of over 20 million dollars to build the Center."},{"label":"Transcription","value":"On back: \"The Grand Hall -- 3 stories high features 3 specially designed 17 ft. high magnificent crystal chandeliers suspended from a diamond patterned ceiling set with diamond shaped mirrors.
