It was erected in 1931 at a cost of $22,000. The fountain was designed by Ralph C. Flewelling, and featured changing patterns of jets of water lit by colored lights. The jets and colors were originally timed to display 60 different combinations every eight minutes. In the center of the fountain is a statue sculpted by Merrell Gage of a Tongva woman kneeling in prayer for rain. The statue sits on a pedestal in a circular pool with bas-relif cavrings depicting California history along its walls."},{"label":"Language","value":"eng"},{"label":"Publisher","value":"Los Angeles, Calif.: Western Publishing & Novelty Co."},{"label":"Type","value":["Postcards"]},{"label":"Digital Identifier","value":"LML_MS-042-001940001"},{"label":"Object Identifier","value":"LML_MS-042-00194"},{"label":"Geographic Location","value":"Wilshire Boulevard (Los Angeles, Calif.); Beverly Hills (Calif.)"},{"label":"Subject","value":"Fountains--California--Beverly Hills; Public art--California--Beverly Hills; Public sculpture--California--Beverly Hills;"},{"label":"Title","value":"Electric fountain, Beverly Hills, California"},{"label":"Date","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1931"},{"label":"Source","value":"Department of Archives and Special Collections, William H.
