Mexico  Esteemed brother:  Today Mrs. Treviño returned from San Diego, she is the wife of the man who sold me the store,  and when she visited Soledad, she was asked to tell me that she is in good health and sends her  regards. I hope you do as you say in your last letter, and decide to come and visit us soon.  Tell me if my father is all right because you did not mention him in your previous letter. I hope  my mother's health continues to be good, as well as the rest of them.  About that young boy [Alfonso], what else do you know?  I send you a photograph of the new city hall of Los Angeles. Its construction was just beginning  when I first arrived here, and was inaugurated on the 26th of this month. There was an open  house for three days when everyone was allowed to enter. Yesterday I, [José] Miguel and  Ricardo went there and viewed this immense city whose limits could not be seen from the 27th  floor which is marked with a cross in the photo. From that height the tallest buildings in the city  seemed like toy houses.  Do not be surprised at my penmanship for I am using a new pen. I confirm my former one.  I believe you already know that Archbishop of Mexico Mora y del Río [who was in exile in San  Antonio, Texas] died.  Receive a firm hug from your brother and give one from me to my dad, mom and each and every  one of my little brothers and sisters.  Regards from Lola and all the boys.
