He was born in Dublin, Ireland. Brougham was studying to become a doctor when financial strain pushed him out of school and into acting in 1830. After acting and writing in London, he peformed for the first time in America in 1842 and remained in the states until his death in 1880 in New York City. He was also a playwright, having written over a hundred scripts, the most popular of which were his comedies."},{"label":"Creator","value":["J.
