The modest homestead of Abraham Brien (alternate spellings Bryan and Brian) is seen in the center, with Zeigler's Grove behind it. Cemetery Hill is beyond the trees, which form a clump on the horizon, probably used as the guiding point for Pickett's Division to aim toward in their charge of July 3, 1863. The shorter trees to the right of Brien's home would be his Brien's orchard. The white house and red barn along the road on the left is probably the Emmanuel Trostle homestead, long ago destroyed. Meade's headquarters is actually out of view, beyond the ridge to the right.
