Over time the property had a number of owners, names, renovations, and improvements, but in 1889 it was purchased by Simon Diller who, in July 1890, gave the property the name of Hotel Gettysburg. In 1925 a large annex was added to the hotel, featuring new rooms, the theater and a combined gymnasium-auditorium. Hotel Gettysburg eventually closed on December 14, 1964.
