Yildiz Palace complex, one of the last palaces inhabited during the Ottoman era, was constructed in the late 19th century under Sultan Abdulhamit II in a large park facing the Bosphorus Sea in the Besiktas district of Istanbul. The extensive complex consists of palace buildings, pavilions, and gardens. The adjacent Hamidiye Mosque was constructed under Sultan Abdülhamid II in 1885.
