It could have been owned by a doctor or an individual. The four containers are hinged together and will fold up into a small unit or can be folded out in a line. On one side of the containers there are characters which describe the medicines: 1- powder for indigestion; 2- pills for nausea; 3- powder for sleeping, translated 'lie-down; ' 4- pills for itching. On the other side there are tree and flower motifs. Both the characters and the motifs are done in blue, white, and green enamel. Each of the containers has its own lid, with a built-in spoon if it's a powder container.
