This is the third trip abroad for the group and will include The Netherlands, West Germany, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. The program they will sing encompasses the chronological spectrum of choral music. The modern numbers, with tone clusters, speech rhythms and frequent dissonances, contrast sharply with the more familiar musical techniques of earlier writers, while Negro spirituals offer a gentle respite from both. Professor Wagnild has the rare ability to interpret all of this music with outstanding sensitivity and artistry and the Choir reflects his talent by skillfully performing each number with the same excellence.
