After the death of her second husband William Barrett in 1823, Eliza lived in the household of Horatio in Kentucky. Philip Osborne Turpin was one of Horatio's sons.\nPhilip Turpin was elected from Gallatin County to serve as a representative in the State legislature.\nRichard P. Butler (1782-1885) who endorsed the document on the verso, was the clerk of Gallatin County in Kentucky. Butler fought in the War of 1812 and was considered an important figure in the organization of the \"new\" Gallatin County which was created in 1820 when legislature gave up some of its land to the newly formed Owen County."},{"label":"Contributor","value":["Edward E.
