I had an opportunity to work with the actual type collection, during which I found some gorgeous blackletter wood type. I find the old blackletter type extremely beautiful, though hard to read. I printed out specimen sheets from the type and begun to work with the letterforms visually once back home. I wanted to concentrate to the visual aspects of this type rather than writing with it, and this book is one of the pieces I created.
