The idea of Communion--with others, with the spaces around me, and in the spiritual sacramental sense--permeates my artistic practice. This little book, titled Communion, offers a glimpse into that process and invites the reader into a quiet, intimate exchange with the work. Its small scale conveys a sense of preciousness, asking the viewer to lean in closely, much like the act of listening. Tiny details aim to inspire wonder and unexpected delight. The book is unwrapped like a gift, revealing images of cups and dishes--symbols of communion--interspersed with swatches of hand-dyed fabric.
