'Death of Rats' is reprinted herein with gratitude to Carol Benedict, who translated the poem and published it in her 1996 book: 'Bubonic Plague in Nineteenth-Century China'. Susan Guinn of the Blue Nuthatch Press assisted in the preparation of the images for the engravings. Julia Seko of PS Press carefully printed the dragon and the text onto Frankfurt white 120 gsm paper. Danny Long of the Long legs Press provided editorial assistance and aesthetic guidance for the concept. Pui Fong Kan, University of Colorado Boulder faculty, wrote the calligraphy, 'Gratitude' and 'Remembrance' for the engravings that Seko used to print the joss-paper style inserts. Gregory Robl of the Turquoise Dragonfly Press built the chitsu for the edition.
