I punctur'd all the tires at once and still I wasn't sore Four guys rush'd out put on new tires and I drove off once more It's certainly tough It's certainly rough they've gone and stopped the war Before I joined the army I'd walk around the town And not a soul would notice me, they'd just pass up and down But later on they cheered me, they all changed their mind I guess And one good looking servant girl she slipped me her address Oh why did they stop the war' What for' What for? This servant girl said \"You're the kind of man that I adore\" It must be me it couldn't be that uniform I wore It's certainly tough it's certainly rough they've gone and stopp'd the war The job I had was easy, it seemed to me like play I watched the German prisoners so none could get away I could entertain myself I liked it more than seeing shows I could pick out any German there and bust him in the nose Oh why did they stop the war' What for' What for?
