This farm of a bout 6 acres was purchased by John Somes Rogers in 1869 and inherited by his son Percy Somes Rogers in 1897. The land is boarded on the north by the Cape Pond Road, on the west by Eastern Ave (known in early times as the Sandy Bay Road), on the south by the road (heavily shaded by trees) that led to the factory of the Rogers Isinglass and Glue Co. On the east the land extends to wooded knolls and a cleared acre field beyond the range of the picture. Of interest in connection with the historical sketches of father and son are: 1. House (at corner of land eastern side of road) in the basement of which John S. Rogers worked out his method of making fish glue. 2. Glue factory, built by ?E.P Rogers his son after his father's factory was closed. 3. Home built by Percy Rogers in 1893 (the long sunporch was added in 1923). 4.
