Based on a literature review using\nidentified guiding themes, we examined a diverse range of sources including peer reviewed\nresearch and scholarly texts, historical documents, and media such as newspapers, social media,\nand legal documents. Identified themes include disability rights, legal challenges and legislation,\nhistory of institutions, and community resources. The literature review reveals national, state,\nand local perspectives on disability, the evolution of which can be shown through examples from\nBerry College itself, from Eugene Gunby, a student with polio who fought to attend the Berry\nSchool, to the first private Inclusive Postsecondary Program in Georgia, the Berry College\nProgram for Inclusive Learning.
