Keeping the traditions of falconry alive takes learning, and for some, learning may come in a unique, creative way. My project makes this learning process easier by presenting the audience with a collection of digital illustrations featuring the main raptors used in falconry in the United States. The final form of this project will be a book, where the illustrations are accompanied by information about the different raptors. These illustrations focus on falconry within the United States, featuring seven different species: the Red-tailed Hawk, the Harris’s Hawk, the Goshawk, the American Kestrel, the Gyrfalcon, the Aplomado Falcon, and the Golden Eagle. These species represent what a majority of the four thousand falconers in the United States train as hunting partners in falconry. Each species is unique in their personalities and hunting styles, creating a diverse set of nature’s hunters of the sky. Through my research, I have studied various styles of digital illustration including animated movies, artists for children’s books, and character illustrators. My research led to experimenting with different styles of digital illustration that is now culminating into this project, where layout, colors, forms, and textures play a role in presenting each piece."},{"label":"Format","value":["application/pdf"]},{"label":"Language (DLG)","value":["eng"]},{"label":"Publisher","value":["Berry College"]},{"label":"Medium","value":["posters"]},{"label":"Extent","value":"48 x 36 inch poster"},{"label":"Holding Institution","value":["Berry College"]},{"label":"Type","value":["Text"]},{"label":"Language","value":["English"]},{"label":"Major","value":["Art","Studio Art"]}],"description":"The Raptors of American Falconry: An Educational Tool","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/berry/iiif/285bbec4-d210-4015-8644-b8bb6918250f/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"MrozekMadeline_2025_Poster-1","height":1275,"width":1651,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/berry/iiif/05723556-640a-4bfa-b2ff-72c980a37d91/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/berry/iiif/05723556-640a-4bfa-b2ff-72c980a37d91","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":512,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":1275,"width":1651},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/berry/iiif/285bbec4-d210-4015-8644-b8bb6918250f/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/berry/iiif/05723556-640a-4bfa-b2ff-72c980a37d91/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/berry/iiif/05723556-640a-4bfa-b2ff-72c980a37d91/full/300,300/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/berry/iiif/logo"}
