A man and woman stand on a ledge overlooking a rocky terrain and waterfall. The man has loose overgrown hair, his kimono is hanging open, and he is holding a large rock above his head. The women kneels on the ground looking up at the man. The male character in the print as the title suggests is Oguri Hangan the son of the Oguri clan that had to flea to Fujisawa and go into hiding after their allies, the Uesugi, were defeated by Ashikaga Mochiuji. While in hiding Oguri was saved by the maiden Terute who is likely the female character in the print. He was also helped by the priest Yugyo. He was severally injured and sick but with the help of Yugyo, Terute and the healing waters of Yunomine in kumano he was able to regain his strength."},{"label":"Date created (EDTF)","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1845 - D:00 M:00 Y:1846"},{"label":"Date created","value":"circa 1845-1846"},{"label":"Creator role","value":["Artist"]},{"label":"Creator","value":["Utagawa Kuniyoshi/ 歌川 国芳 (Signature: Ichiyûsai Kuniyoshi ga/ 一勇斎国芳画)"]},{"label":"Identifier - Local","value":"NE1325.U65_T6_0009"},{"label":"Extent","value":"1 file"}],"description":"Fujisawa: Oguri Hangan/ 藤沢: 小栗判官","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/american/iiif/bb728fd8-dc9e-49c6-971f-c215271793b6/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Fujisawa: Oguri Hangan/ 藤沢: 小栗判官","height":5750,"width":3871,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/american/iiif/bb728fd8-dc9e-49c6-971f-c215271793b6/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/american/iiif/bb728fd8-dc9e-49c6-971f-c215271793b6","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json","tiles":[{"width":2048,"scaleFactors":[1,2,4]}]},"height":5750,"width":3871},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/american/iiif/bb728fd8-dc9e-49c6-971f-c215271793b6/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/american/iiif/bb728fd8-dc9e-49c6-971f-c215271793b6/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/american/iiif/bb728fd8-dc9e-49c6-971f-c215271793b6/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/american/iiif/logo"}
