Along with his wife, he has decided to stay on their farm in Cofield, North Carolina, where isolation and movement are easier. He talks about how he has not seen his daughter in over three months, and misses his social activities in DC, but enjoys finishing tasks at the farmhouse, listening to music and streaming programs, twice-weekly weenie roasts, haircuts with his father's barber kit from 1941, and scenic country drives. Marvin discusses the work he has been able to continue during the crisis, incluing indexing copies of the North Carolina Historical Review. He shares that he does not know how long he and his wife will stay in Cofield, but says that they will visit DC monthly and keep up with the city online. Marvin hopes that people will do more to \"assert their own community-minded powers\" to overcome evil during this pandemic, and thinks that the current protests are doing much to benefit the nation and the world. Finally, he hopes that we will make the best use of science in solving COVID.
