A young woman and little girl stand on the path outside the titular Teppozu Inari Shrine, which can be identified by the bright read outer wall and small man-made mountain that takes up the right side of the composition. Along the left side is a waterway with boats and a peak of a larger harbor can be seen just beyond. The pilgrimage depicted is called Fuji-mode and was conducted during the Fuji festival in order to worship the mountain. Many went to the real Mt. Fuji and others visited small man-made copies like the one in this print constructed of Lava rock at Teppozu Inari Shrine.
